About NBBC

Classes

Our mornings begin with a time of singing and devotion, setting a positive and focused tone for the day. Each day, except Sunday, we hold a spiritual class that covers meaningful topics such as Respect, God’s Design for Me, Lessons from the Prodigal Son, Purity, the Plan of Salvation, and Biblical Principles of Finances. From Monday through Friday, the boys also dedicate an hour to structured homework, which includes Bible reading, Scripture memorization, and writing assignments designed to deepen their understanding and strengthen their faith.

Meals and Chores

The boys receive three nutritious meals each day, along with an afternoon snack and, if needed, an additional snack in the evening. Mealtime is an opportunity to practice gratitude, as they are encouraged to eat what is served with a thankful attitude. After every meal, all of the boys share in the responsibilities of cleaning up—washing dishes, wiping tables, sweeping, and helping to restore order—reinforcing both teamwork and personal responsibility.

Work

Each term, the boys contribute approximately 90 hours of meaningful work. Our goal through this program is to instill strong values of responsibility, reliability, and diligence, preparing them to become dependable employees that any employer would be glad to hire.

Cabin Inspection

The boys are responsible for making their beds, keeping their clothes neatly folded and organized, doing their own laundry, and maintaining a clean and orderly cabin. They are held to a high standard through a structured demerit system, which helps them learn accountability and attention to detail. These daily habits not only encourage responsibility within the program but also foster a lasting sense of care for their personal environment—skills they can carry into their homes and future lives.

Punctuality

Punctuality is a vital part of our program. We teach the boys the importance of being on time, knowing that reliability and respect are reflected in how we honor schedules. Everyone values those who show up promptly, and we instill the principle that lateness begins the very moment after the appointed time. By practicing this discipline daily, the boys learn responsibility and develop habits that will serve them well throughout life.

Practical classes

Our goal is to prepare the boys to become dependable employees—individuals that any employer would be glad to hire. To help develop these skills, they participate in a variety of hands-on classes such as First Aid, Search and Rescue, Cooking, Cowboy Skills, Welding, Woodworking, and Motor Repair, among others. These classes may vary from term to term, ensuring a well-rounded experience that builds both practical knowledge and personal confidence.

Team-Building Activities

We incorporate a wide variety of activities designed to strengthen teamwork and cooperation. The boys learn how to work with others—even those who may be more challenging to get along with or who see things differently—developing patience, respect, and interpersonal skills. Many of our activities are also structured to encourage problem-solving and critical thinking. In a world where technology often does the thinking for us, we challenge the boys to actively engage their minds, sharpening their ability to reason, analyze, and overcome obstacles together.

Physical Training and Hiking

Five days a week, the boys participate in a 45-minute workout focused on strengthening the upper body, lower body, and building endurance through running. Each term also includes several hikes of varying lengths, providing opportunities to develop perseverance, teamwork, and a positive attitude. These activities not only build physical strength but also teach the importance of supporting others and finding joy in shared challenges.

Devotionals and Quiet Time

Each day, the boys dedicate at least 20 minutes to personal Bible reading and prayer, nurturing their spiritual growth and daily walk with God. Several times each term, they also spend up to an hour in extended quiet time, allowing them to draw closer to Him and strengthen their personal relationship with the Lord.
